Why have I gained weight after almost two weeks of exercise?
I have been exercising for 12 or 13 days now every day for 15 minutes or so. I walk and run (high intensity run for 15 seconds, then walk, high intensity, then walk) once around my neighborhood which is only about .6 miles. But yesterday I actually went twice around the neighborhood which is 1.2 miles. I have been eating sort of well. Better than I used to before I started exercising. I have had protein shakes every morning (around 20-30g) and have tried to eat well, things such as lean cuisines and vegetables, and fruit (not too much of course). The problem is, these past few days I have eaten like crap. I don't think I really exceeded the suggested caloric intake but those calories were crappy and carby. I had mac and cheese for dinner but then I went and ran/walked twice around the neighborhood. As you can probably imagine, I have gained 6 pounds since my first day of exercising!!!! Today was my first day of weighing myself since and I was horrified. I have no idea why! The mac and cheese kind of eating was pretty much what I ate like before exercising and being on this plan but the thing is, even when I ate that much I never gained weight that quickly. It's ridiculous. It probably took me almost two weeks to gain that. I don't know for sure since the first time I weighed myself for a while was today. I don't get it. I have NEVER gained weight that quickly. I read it could be muscle, which I doubt is correct for me since I'm only doing 15 minutes of exercise. I also read I could be eating too little calories or too much, but I also don't think that's true but maybe I'm wrong. I'm thinking it's just my body adjusting to the weight loss program (even though it isn't very intense). I don't know. I'm trying not to let the scale discourage me, and I won't but I really want to know why I gained 6 pounds after 2 weeks of exercise. I'm a girl if you haven't already caught that. Weight: 206 Height: 5'6 ish The 20g protein shakes are only 180 calories. Pretty sure they're not making me gain fat. Idk about the 30g shakes. Probably only still around 200.
